About this safari
Embark on an unforgettable 4-day journey from the beaches of Watamu to three of Kenya's most iconic wildlife havens. From tracking the famous red elephants of Tsavo East to sleeping above a bustling watering hole at the unique Sarova Salt Lick Lodge, this safari offers the perfect blend of adventure and spectacular views. Your journey culminates in Amboseli, where massive elephant herds roam against the magnificent backdrop of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Day-by-day itinerary
Watamu – Tsavo East
We will pick you up from your hotel at 6:00am, after breakfast we proceed to Tsavo East National Park, where we will arrive at 10:30am. Tsavo East National Park is home of the Red Elephants, with game drives route to Ashnil Aruba Lodge where we check in for lunch. After lunch, relax, then afternoon game drives in the park. We have the chance to watch zebras, buffalos, giraffes, gazelle, waterbucks and big families of elephants. Look out also for a diversity of resident bird species which includes hornbills, eagles, kingfishers, weavers, giant bustards, storks and marabou. In the sunset we return to Voi Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Tsavo east - Taita Hills
Early morning game drive in Tsavo east National park, followed by breakfast and departure drive to the Taita Hills Sanctuary arriving in time for lunch at Sarova Taita Hills Lodge, followed by game drive in the conservancy and later on check in at Salt Lick Lodge. Salt Lick Lodge is a truly unique architectural concept, with luxurious oval-shaped rooms, overlooking a waterhole, which attracts a large number of wildlife, especially the elephants. In the evenings, the animals gather at the waterhole-a spectacular site to behold to drink at the watering hole.
Taita Hills – Amboseli national park
After breakfast, we depart for Amboseli National Park at around 7:30am arriving in time at our camp for check in and lunch. Freshen up in your room or soak in the fabulously constructed swimming pool overlooking the Snow Capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, before an introductory late afternoon game drive at 1630hrs in the Park with a perfect view of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro in the backdrop! We return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
End of Safari Back to Watamu
Morning game drive before breakfast to see the beautiful morning sunrise, back to the lodge for breakfast after which a game drive is conducted as we try to make our way home arriving back to your hotel in the evening.

- •Comfortable clothing is essential; bring a long change of clothes for the evening and early morning, and a T-shirt and shorts for the day. Remember to bring several changes of clothes, as the red soil of the savannah can be uncomfortable.
- •A swimsuit, as accommodations often have a swimming pool
- •Comfortable shoes (preferably old ones, not white ones, to avoid staining them)
- •A UK-style power adapter and a power bank are also essential
- •A camera and, if you want to be sure of seeing animals even from a distance, binoculars
